Ceramic window tint

Control glare and cabin comfort without choosing a shade by guesswork. Start with how you use the car, then compare film specifications and visibility.

Shade is only one specification

Visible light transmission describes how much visible light passes through the glass-and-film combination. It does not, on its own, tell you how a film manages solar energy. Ask for the actual product data and how its heat measurements were obtained.

Compare the windshield, front side windows, rear glass and any factory privacy glass separately. The legal and practical choices are not identical for every piece of glass. Confirm the proposed coverage against current California requirements before installation.

See clearly after dark

A film that looks right outside at noon may feel different on an unlit road. Discuss nighttime driving, reversing, passengers and any medical or visibility concerns. Test a sample rather than relying on an edited photograph.

Tell the installer about aftermarket electronics, damaged glass or old film. Removing an existing tint may be separate work, and the rear-window defroster deserves particular care.

After installation

Ask when it is safe to lower the windows and clean the glass. Some moisture or haze can be part of the drying process; persistent bubbles, lifting edges or damage need the shop’s advice. Use the cleaning method recommended for the installed film.
