Start with the purpose
Color-change vinyl offers a different surface color, texture or sheen. PPF is generally a thicker protective film selected for impact-prone painted areas. Some protective films also change appearance, so ask for the exact product rather than judging by the label alone.
Compare the scope
A complete color change and front-end protection cover different panels. Ask for a written panel list, expected seams and exposed edges. If two products are proposed together, confirm compatibility and the installation sequence.
Budget for preparation and care
Condition, previous paintwork and old film can change the job. Discuss preparation, removal, maintenance and product-specific warranty terms before committing.
